ONE INSYNC FAMILY

Same family.
Different functions.

Kaba InSync and Saflok InSync are names for the same product family. The version inside your key matters more than the logo on it.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Your key questions,
answered.

Compatibility, appointments, and what to bring. Here’s what to know before getting a copy.

Are Kaba InSync and Saflok InSync the same?

Yes, these names refer to the same InSync family, now under dormakaba. Saflok and Kaba also appear on other products, so the brand alone doesn’t identify your key’s technology. Use our identification guide to compare key and tap-entry options.

Do I need to mail you my original?

No. This is a local service by appointment in Greater Boston. Bring your working key to the agreed meeting. Your original stays with you.

How much does a copy cost?

An InSync Key is $50. An InSync Key with Integrated Tap Entry is $75, or an InSync Key + Tap Fob is $55. Each option depends on compatibility. We confirm the option and total first.

Do additional copies cost less?

Yes. After the first copy, each additional InSync Key is $20, key with integrated tap entry is $45, or InSync Key + Tap Fob set is $25. The copies must be from the same original, in the same copy option, at the same appointment. For example, two keys with integrated tap entry total $120. Different originals, mixed options, and later visits are quoted separately. Integrated tap-entry key blanks must be available.

What does integrated tap entry mean?

Your InSync door access and compatible tap-reader access are combined in one key. The Key + Tap Fob option gives you two separate pieces instead. We check your key and each reader function before confirming compatibility. See the guide for technical details.

What if I’ve lost my only key?

We need a working original to make a duplicate. If your key is lost, broken, or disabled, contact your property manager or building’s access administrator for a replacement.

Will a copy work on my lobby, elevator, and apartment?

That depends on the credential and the systems in your building. Some keys have separate functions for different readers. Tell us which doors and readers you use so we can discuss what can be copied. Test the duplicate at each access point.

Can I get a same-day copy?

Appointments depend on compatibility and availability. We’ll confirm timing and the meeting location with you before you make the trip.

Are you affiliated with Saflok or dormakaba?

No. Fob N Key is an independent key-copying service. Saflok, Kaba, InSync, and dormakaba are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify key types.
