THE INSYNC KEY GUIDE

Know your key.
Choose your spare.

Kaba InSync. Saflok InSync. The same family of keys, with a few important differences inside.

Start with the shape, then check the markings and how you use it. You don’t need to know the technical name before contacting us.

01 / THE NAME

One InSync family. Several names.

“Kaba InSync” and “Saflok InSync” refer to the same InSync family, now part of dormakaba. Saflok and Kaba also appear on other locks and credentials. Look for InSync, rather than relying on the brand alone.

RFID doesn’t mean “the Prox version.”

The regular InSync key already uses RFID. A dual-technology key adds another credential, such as Prox, in the same housing.

02 / THE SHAPE

Compare the outside.

Similar housings can contain different technologies. Appearance and markings are a starting point; we confirm the functions before making a copy.

03 / WHAT’S INSIDE

Regular InSync or InSync + Prox?

REGULAR INSYNC

The InSync function

InSync / HiTag S

Manufacturer example: R20280. This is the regular InSync key type.

INSYNC WITH PROX

Two functions, one key

InSync / HiTag S+ Prox

Manufacturer example: W30007. It adds a Prox credential alongside InSync.

There are other dual-technology versions too: W30009 adds MIFARE, while W30014 / W30015 add DESFire. These need their own compatibility check. A tap reader is not proof of Prox.

These are manufacturer reference numbers. Yours may not have a model number printed on it. Don’t choose a replacement from appearance alone.

04 / HOW YOU USE IT

Does it insert, tap, or both?

Think about each access point you normally use. For example: insert and turn at the apartment, then tap at the lobby or elevator.

Choose an option for a useful next step. This guide identifies clues; it does not scan or certify a key.

Check every function you need.

InSync also has common-area readers. Tapping at a lobby doesn’t establish which technology is being used. A working apartment copy doesn’t, on its own, confirm lobby, elevator, or garage access.

05 / YOUR COPY OPTIONS

06 / SEND US THE CLUES

We’ll help with the rest.

Attach a clear photo of each side to your email. Tell us the markings, whether you insert or tap the key, which door and reader functions you need, and your city or neighborhood.

Cover your unit number, access codes, and identifying labels. There’s no need to share your building address for the initial check.

LET’S START WITH YOUR KEY

Check your key.

Tell us what’s on your key and where you’re based. We’ll prepare an email enquiry for you.
